Rise
Oil
24 x 9.5 inches
Rise is based on a vision about release. This gull twists and rises out of the grabbing waves. Some net shapes are printed in the wave ready to drag the bird down but also like the froth shapes on waves. This is a highly textured piece having been painted over a previous textured work. sold £80
The Fine Line
Oil
12x24 inches
The fine line is blue painted over rectangles of oranges and reds. Some peeps through the very thin line between the sky and the sea. The delicious blue of the sea is Cyan and Turquoise mixed. Shapes and typical lines of little strokes are included in the surface by scratching in with a feather point. The sense of space is full of life. Sold £120
Map
Glenda Gibson's Bottesford Map abstract is a perfect example of her desire to organise colour attractively rather than painting something realistically. This is an abstracted painting over a painting of the Vale of Belvoir as a google map. Some of the original painting, a textured oil painting, are visible in this oil painting. This painting has been used to made a beautiful cushion. Ask if this interests you. Sold £150

This part of a collection featuring printing and boats. Parts of this image is made with a stencil which was also used as a print block. Declare
Oil, oil pencils
A friend gave me these trumpety flowers. Declare is one of three paintings where Glenda experiments with printing. The flowers are at the top of the image as if they want to reach up off the painting as they announce the glory of God. Consider the flowers. She was also drawn to how the stretched out of the thin squared vase. Sold £80
Light in the Darkness
oil
This part of a collection featuring printing and boats. Parts of this image is made with a stencil which was also used as a print block. This reminds me that Jesus is the light of the world and the darkness will not over come it. It also reminds me Jesus calmed a storm. I love the pretty printing in the wild waves. Sold £65
